Since 2016, Tanner Conant has been in the motion picture industry. From working on short student to even feature films. Tanner's passion for the entertainment industry fuels his desire to have a successful and unique career in showbiz. From 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., working productions ranging from 3 blocks to 180 miles round trip. While other times working at the top of a water slide to taking cover in an alley, as we film a wild police chase. Or perhaps interviewing a PIO on the scene of a raging wildfire to walking Hollywood Blvd. alongside Tarantino.

As you can tell, Tanner has plenty more stories to tell and experiences to share. Always on the front lines, taking initiative and accomplishing the task at hand. Always finding a way to succeed and ultimately make it happen. With a laser focus, Tanner has spent countless hours researching the film industry from morning to night. From sending cold emails and LinkedIn messages, to networking at many coffee shops and following up with Excel spreadsheet contacts. While also attending expos, sending tons of well crafted snail mail letters, shadowing, and talking to film speakers after class. There was always a drive and walk towards basecamps, studio guard shacks, eventually into production offices and studio lots.

Tanner has worked on six different backlots and four film ranches. With notable companies like AMAZON, AMC, CW, FOX, IHEART, LIFETIME, NBC UNIVERSIO, NETFLIX, OXYGEN, PARAMOUNT, SCVTV, SONY, VMA, WARNER BROS, etc.

Tanner is very persistent and capable, he even types this paragraph at 3 a.m. This industry and career is very important to Tanner as he  thinks of "the potential" in his current role. Tanner started as a volunteer, has built up to a Production Coordinator role, and desires to go either as an Executive Producer, Director of Studio Operations, or go union as a Local 871 IATSE member. As you can tell, Tanner is very passionate about working in the film industry, has top-tier experience, knowledge, and is hungry for more.

PRODUCTION EXPERIENCE

1) Production Coordinator

(CURRENT ROLE)​​

Tanner works at a television studio in Santa Clarita called SCVTV for 2 seasons (45+ episodes) and 160+ volunteer hours. The work is mainly on SCVTV’s Community Corner as a Production Coordinator with Carrie Lujan, a City PIO, and Dave Caldwell, a Sports Information Director from The Masters University. ​

  • Generate segment ideas, scouting, reachout, and coordination of date/time logistics with guest availability through emails

  • Prepare segment guests by generating pre-interview talking points and details for the show 

  • Collaborate with the management team in an office environment through meetings and over various Google business formats like Google Calendar, Google Excel and Drive, Monday.com, WordPress, etc

2) Assistant Production Coordinator 

Provide logistical support in the producing department through pre-production planning.

  • Assist my production team in the technicalities of generating phone calls, running errands, crew lists, call sheets, production rundown, graphics, scriptwriting, cue cards, etc.

3) Production Assistant

Perform various day-to-day logistical operations of the production department, including coordinating general setup and strike, transporting cast and crew to set, driving golf carts, checking out and returning equipment, filing paperwork, liaising with production management and producers, conducting location and production inspections, and assisting overlapping departments. Answer inbound calls and direct callers to appropriate departments to resolve inquiries. Plan and coordinate weekly meetings with production coordinators as well as function as an office, talent, and prep assistant.
